So, we have run into a lot of Americans and Canadians who have been vacationing here for about 24 years. Easy to see why. The Mayan family of resorts (we are now at the Grand Mayan) easily rival the best resorts in the U.S. The cost of restaurants are half of what they would be in the U.S., because of the exchange rates. and the cuisine is exactly right for tourists. The grounds and water attractions (to include an adult appropriate Lazy River) are amazing. There are whale watching tours, but the only ones we have found involve 10 person boats, and I am not sure Dramamine would be enough for Anita, who gets seasick. There are bigger boats for whale watching in Cabo San Lucas in Baja California. So next month, we will journey there to see what that is like.
