There was a partial eclipse, here in Mexico, as in the case of a good part of the U.S. I recall following a nearly total eclipse,back in 1970. using a large telescope, projecting the progress of the Moon’s movement on a screen, below the eyepiece. The coolest part was how the birds stopped chirping and singing. The best part, this time, was about what happened at the middle of the eclipse, here in Tepoztlan. An orange, heavy dust started falling. Turned out it was ash from the nearest volcano – Popocatepetl. Was funny how it fell just as the eclipse was happening.
